Brother of Jared

History

Deep in the dank, dark cellar of an abandoned commercial building on Newark, New Jersey’s Broad Street, during the cold, grey winter of 2011…

…Brother of Jared was spawned in the spray of a broken steam heater, fizzling and sizzling in furtive spurts. Only the janitor was present, and even he couldn’t have guessed what was to come…

After years of development and growth, Brother of Jared has come to bring its unique blend of Rock, Pop and Reggae to the world, always inspired with messages of truth and love. Like no time before, their music is called for: the devil rages in the hearts of the sons and daughters of man. In a world so feverishly in need of missionaries, it has become deeply unpopular to become one. The truth must finally be declared, and be loudly ricocheted off the walls of our homes: it is positively hip to be square.

Hailing from Texas, singer and frontman Jason Krause was raised on frozen pizza, ding dongs, and the funky sounds of '80s synth-pop. His influences include Erasure, Howard Jones, and Information Society, and he's been known to sing along with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston. The band also once caught him listening to Kenny G, but he still won't admit to ever doing it. Always quick with a joke, Jason is also known for his incredible coolness under fire. In fact, ask him about that time in Detroit when his microphone caught fire…

Too cool for school, born in France and raised in the streets of Haiti and Jamaica, Patrique Fontaine sets the drums ablaze. A seasoned Reggae producer in his own right, Patrique has worked on countless recordings and albums. His ear is always on point, and Patrique regularly brings hooks and sounds to the writing and arranging of Brother of Jared’s repertoire.  The son of a diplomat, Patrique deeply believes that he can get away with anything.

On the bass is the one-and-only Roberth “Rock” Angeles.  The youngest of 19 boys, Rock was already renowned in his native Peru as a founding member of the Latin-Ska/Rock sensation “Tabarra”.  Also a big fan of Reggae and straight rock-n-roll, Rock brings a steady rhythm and drive to Brother of Jared that simply cannot be denied.

On guitars, Andreas Sahar takes his many years of classical training and fuses it with an ever-present pop sensibility to bring the songs to life. Principally responsible for the group’s music writing and production, Andreas thrives on soaring choruses, accentuated with his high-gain power chords.  Andreas was raised by wolves, and doesn’t like jokes involving animals.

The members of Brother of Jared are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although the band is not formally affiliated with the Church, they support the Church’s mission and its missionaries, and endeavor to continue enduring as such until the end…
